Stunning New Flower Girl Dress

My first attempt at a flower girl dress is complete. I actually finished it a couple of weeks ago but I just got pictures of the gorgeous flower girl trying it on for size. I think it turned out pretty spectacular, if I do say so myself. It is extremely poofy, but that is the way the bride wanted it.  If another bride wanted it to be less full, that would certainly be doable.

I wove several layers of ivory tulle through the crotchet elastic tube top. I tied them all at the bottom and then added several more layers, including shimmer tulle.  Next, I added an entire spool of ivory ribbon at the top, weaving it through the front and creating straps that weave through the bottom in the back and tie.

I also added a layer of ivory daisy ribbon at the top in the front to add even more detail.

Since I completed this dress, I already have an order for two more, which is incredible. Someone even told me, "It's amazing. It's the greatest thing of all time."  She may have been exaggerating, but that is always nice to hear.

I would love to hear your feedback.  What do you think?

Like a Rhinestone Cowboy!

I was born in 1977, somewhere in the middle of the Glen Campbell song and the Parton/Stallone movie Rhinestone. Never the less, I have a tendency to think in songs--word associations with lyrics and titles--so pretty much every time I say the word "rhinestone" the song "Rhinestone Cowboy" pops into my head.
I also like clever and somewhat ridiculous t-shirts.
Hence, my new product:

Do you get it?
I posted it on my Facebook page yesterday and I was surprised how many people didn't get it.  A lot of people said they had never heard of that song before.  But I think this shirt is perfect for anyone who is a country western music fan, anyone who likes ridiculous t-shirts, or anyone who likes cowboys in general.
What do y'all think? Have you heard of the song?  Is it funny, cheesy, or just absolutely ridiculous?
Here is the link if you would like to check it out in my Etsy shop.

Pink Satin Gown

On a whim, I ordered some pink satin fabric from my tulle distributor.  I thought I might try to make Lucy a dress if it was enough.  I didn't really look at the quantity and I had no idea what satin costs, but I thought it might be slightly expensive.  I placed the order and waited the week or so for it to come in.
This is what I got.
Now that's a lot of satin!

What in the world am I going to do with all of that satin?

Make dresses, of course!  Here's my fist attempt.  I think it turned out super cute.  You may have noticed that I generally only use one pattern when I make dresses because this pattern is so simple and I'm really not much of a seamstress.  I change it up by adding rhinestones, buttons, applique, etc.  This one only has a button in the back for now but I could add other thing. I think I may add some flowers.

I love satin!

Good news is, I have enough satin left to make a few more, which means I can list this at a pretty low cost to you, my wonderful fans and customers! With some rhinestones or flowers, this would be great for a wedding or party!  A satin sash would also add a touch of class. What do you think?
